TECHNICAL TRAINING PROGRAM »

Technical Training at the Middle East Industrial Training Institute is designed to provide training for personnel involved with welding support groups. Those who need a practical working knowledge of welding – such as engineering, quality control and managerial personnel – will find these one and two weeks courses very beneficial. The courses are comprised of approximately 80% classroom lecture/discussion and 20% laboratory demonstration. These classes are not designed to teach the participants to weld. Courses are available either to provide a generalized background or to target specific areas related to welding.

The certification for the American Welding Society Welding Inspector becomes increasingly important today. Companies involves in bridges, power plants, refineries, construction, shipbuilding, pipelines and more are requiring certification for their inspectors and educators to fulfill employment qualifications. This two weeks course is designed to enable students to be prepared to take the AWS CWI exam. Throughout the course, you will be using the same tool kits and weld replicas similar to the test kits for the hands-on portion of the AWS exam. Required AWS standard course materials are being provided meeting the AWS QC1, Standard for AWS Certification of Welding Inspectors. Immediately after seminar completion, MEITI as an Accredited AWS International Agent, organize CWI Examination at a proper hotel venue. However, it is the responsibility of the participant to file his/her application with completed attached documentations at least one month before the exam date. All applications are subjected for review and approval prior to sit for the exam by the Qualification and Certification Department of the American Welding Society.

• Nondestructive Examination Processes
• Inspection Reports

• WELDING TECHNOLOGY & BLUEPRINT READING »
    2 WEEKS
Course Code: WTB 170
80 CLOCK HOURS
Start Date: See Schedule

Engineering drawings, or blueprints produced from engineering drawings, use a universal graphic language made of symbols and abbreviated written information. These elements produce a graphic representation of a part that conveys essential information about preparation, welding and finishing. Personnel involve in welding, fabrication, construction and manufacturing should have the skills and knowledge in blueprint reading and welding technology in order to properly interpret exactly what a designer requires. This program is suitable for welders, welding operators, fitters, fabricators, foreman
and welding supervisors. Upon completion of the course, the trainee will have the skills and knowledge to perform mathematical operations, convert measurements as required in engineering drawings, and be able to determine the locations, size and welds specified in the drawing. In addition, knowledge in fit-up and weld which corresponds to bill of material will be acquired including set-up of tools and their applications.

Course content:

• Welding Safety
• Welding Terms and Definitions
• Welding Defects and Discontinuities
• Welding Processes and Symbols for Welding
• Arc Welding Processes
• Mathematics and Metrics
• Engineering Drawings
• Bill of Materials
• Set-up Tools and Their Use
• Fabrication of a Weldment from a Print

• PIPE-LAYOUT & FIT-UP »
    3 WEEKS
Course Code: PLF 200
120 CLOCK HOURS
Course Date: See Schedule

This course attempts to present the subject of pipe layout and fabrication in a systematic mathematical approach. Piping system drawing is prepared according to mathematical relationship. Personnel involve in piping system or pipelines should have the knowledge on piping connections from simplest installations to a more complex direction that makes the job more challenging than simply joining straight connections. This program is designed for piping supervisor, fabricator, pipe fitter
and welder involve in piping installation to develop the knowledge of understanding typical pipe connection along with the ability to use basic equations, charts and mathematics in order to use these drawings to fabricate piping systems.

Course content:
